The "Floral Fireworks" design is influenced by a happy July 4th memory I shared with my mom. It involved digging up a trunkfull of surplus daylily plants out of our yard, then driving down the highway, shooting them out the window of a car like fireworks onto the medians and shoulder.

The concept and hope was that they would take root where they landed on the side of the road and someday explode into bloom. We thought it would be so cool to drive by the beauty we were secretly responsible for! Not sure of the actual results of our sweaty efforts but it's a fun memory. I'm grateful to my mom for introducing me to daylilies and a moment of totally spontaneous fun. Thinking of it now, I guess the flowers did bloom and grow. You're looking at them explode into bloom on the shorts!
