Similar to its sister pattern, “I’ll Try Anything Once,” this design was born out of a desire to try new things while cleaning my brushes from another project. Though I can be a fairly structured person, sometimes a lack of planning is exactly what my brain needs to let go and relax. Doing something just for the fun of it – which really is what all my art could be – gives me space to play and be free.

I’ve found ability to play makes getting through life’s difficulties much easier. When we can laugh in the midst of sadness or find the humor in a difficult situation, we are more likely to find our way through. To me, that what the golds and blues represent here – the sparkles and twinkles that illuminate the way through what might otherwise seem like a dark moment.
