In colder locales, in many areas, geraniums are considered annual flowers because they cannot survive freezing temperatures and must be replaced each spring. However, even in places that get a winter freeze, a thoughtful gardener can keep geraniums coming back year after year. How? By moving them somewhere warm or removing them from the soon-to-be-frozen ground, hanging them upside down like a bat, and allowing their roots to remain free. Once the ground is warm enough to receive and nourish them, they will blossom once again.
