In warmer climates, geraniums can live and thrive all year, even during the "winter" months. In colder locales, in many areas, geraniums are considered annual flowers because they cannot survive freezing temperatures and must be replaced each spring. However, even in places that get a winter freeze, a thoughtful gardener can keep geraniums coming back year after year. How? By moving them somewhere warm or removing them from the soon-to-be-frozen ground, hanging them upside down like a bat, and allowing their roots to remain free. Once the ground is warm enough to receive and nourish them, they will blossom once again.

In some ways, I am like the geraniums that inspired this design. I thrive in hot temperatures and wither in the cold. Sometimes I need the wisdom of a seasoned gardener to help me find a space where I can rest for a season and get ready to bloom once again.
